Student Performance Stipends
Approximately $28,000 in performance stipends are awarded to NMSU students by the Association and Guild each year. The stipends provide invaluable performing opportunities and career advancement to talented student musicians.
Eligible students pursuing degrees in Music at NMSU are awarded performance stipends based on musical talent and academic potential. Students wishing to apply for these stipends should:
- Apply for Admission to New Mexico State University
- Complete the "Academic Scholarship" portion of the Application for Admission
- Audition for the Music Director
Ensemble Participation Stipends are music scholarships for non-majors awarded to students pursuing other academic majors who are interested in performing in the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra. To be considered the applicant should:
- Apply for Admission to New Mexico State University
- Send a letter to the Orchestra Director indicating instrument and interest
- Fill out online application
- Audition for the Music Director
