The Symphony Orchestra is a select professional ensemble which
performs a wide variety of literature from the standard orchestral
repertoire. Each year this 80-member ensemble performs six back-to-back
classical concerts and four educational outreach programs. Additionally,
members of the Orchestra also take part in special performances
like the "Mariachi Cobre," a new Family Concert and in
chamber music runouts to schools in our city and surrounding rural
areas. Principal players and Artist Faculty at NMSU provide leadership
in the Orchestra.
Students who wish to perform
with the Symphony should apply for admission to New Mexico State
University and audition for the Music Director. Auditions are required
for scholarship consideration and membership in the orchestra. Please
