Las Cruces Symphony at NMSU is a unique arrangement of artist-faculty, community musicians, talented students, and world-class artists. Under the baton of Music Director/Conductor Dr. Lonnie Klein, student musicians perform alongside professionals in a large orchestra and experience being on stage with renowned guest artists.

The Symphony Orchestra is a select professional ensemble which performs a wide variety of literature from the standard orchestral repertoire. Each year this 80-member ensemble performs six back-to-back classical concerts and four educational outreach programs. Additionally, members of the Orchestra also take part in special performances like the "Mariachi Cobre," a new Family Concert and in chamber music runouts to schools in our city and surrounding rural areas. Principal players and Artist Faculty at NMSU provide leadership in the Orchestra.
